When we brought her home from the hospital, we have him a special job. Chris told him that when visitors came, it was his job to make sure they used the Germ-X on the counter before they held the baby. A few hours later our first visitor, Pa, came by, and Aaron got all excited and started running for the door, saying, "Oh! We have our first customer!" He is so proud of his job, and even a week later he still knows to remind our visitors to clean their hands!
Monday morning we had the kids up getting them ready for their day, and as we were scurrying around we noticed Aaron was standing next to the pack-n-play where Hannah was laying awake, and he had his calender out. He was reading her the calendar! I heard him recite the months of the year to her, then he was going through the months and telling her what happens in each month, based on the stickers we had. He said, "And in July, we'll have Mommy's birthday, and then fireworks, and then Claire's birthday." When he got to December, he said, "In December we'll have Christmas, and you might get some presents, and I will help you open them." It was so funny just watching him teach her stuff! Who knows what she will know because she has such a great big brother showing her the ropes of life.
Aaron loves to hold her, and when he comes in every day from VBS the first thing he asks is "Where's Hannah?" When he holds her he just grins at her and looks her all over, saying how cute she is. He is so proud of her.
He's also a great big brother for Claire. He's always thinking of things to make her happy. (Although, he still aggravates her on purpose when they play together...) Sunday at church he got a frog tattoo on his hand, and on the way home he was telling Claire he had a surprise for her. "I'll give you a hint. It's pink, and it's a flower, and it's a tattoo," he said.
Claire said, "I don't know, tell me!" Ha! When they got home, Chris put the pink flower tattoo on Claire's hand, and she was so proud showing everyone. Aaron just beamed and said, "I knew you would like that!" I thought it was sweet that he thought to get an extra tattoo for his "sis" when they were handing them out in his class. ("Sis" is the new name he's been calling Claire. It's so funny!)
I am so proud that Claire and Hannah both have such a great big brother!
