She asks to hold her as often as Aaron does, but never holds her long. She puts Hannah's tiny feet in her hands and kisses her forehead. She gets Hannah to grip her finger. Then she'll say "Done holding her!"
She is about to drive me crazy trying to constantly give Hannah her paci. She also gets upset if Hannah is using the polka dot paci instead of the one with flowers (which she for some reason calls the "blutterfly paci"). I keep telling her Hannah doesn't always need her paci but she really likes to see Hannah sucking it!
Claire loves to help with diaper changes. She gets out a diaper and climbs up the side of the changing table to reach. She helps me unfold the diaper then fasten the tabs. She gets the alcohol wipes for me so we can wipe her "plug" (her cord--no matter how many times I tell her it's a cord, she calls it a plug!)
Tuesday morning we were getting ready to take Hannah to the pediatrician for her checkup, and Claire was going with us. We found Claire in the bathroom with Hannah reading her books! It was a sweet moment!
Last night Claire was having trouble falling asleep, and every time she heard Hannah cry she would get out of bed and come see what was the matter. Thank goodness Claire sleeps through her cries at night! Claire doesn't like to hear Hannah crying--and if she does, she comes running with a paci!
The last couple of mornings I've had Claire home by herself while Aaron is at VBS, and I guess I'm getting a taste of what it will be like in the fall, with Aaron at Kindergarden and Claire having to entertain herself. She's been playing with her baby dolls more since Hannah has arrived, and it's humbling to hear what she says to her babies. Yesterday she was sending one to time out for not sleeping. She feeds her babies and then tells them they are "filfy" while she dusts the pretend mac and cheese off of their clothes. She yells "KIDS!" when her babies are being too loud or doing something wrong. I can't wait to see how Claire and Hannah play together in a couple of years!
