Happy Birthday Jabberblabber

Several weeks ago Aaron came home with a magazine in his school folder. It was a local publication called Jabberblabber and was filled with lots of fun activities and articles. There was a little quiz that Aaron filled out and mailed in for a chance to win tickets to Jabberblabber's birthday party...and he won! It was a totally FREE party at a movie theater, so I made plans to leave Hannah and take Aaron and Claire. Who could pass up a free movie and snacks??

The party was on Saturday, May 1, the day we had tons of flooding and tornados in town. Of course I didn't know for sure there were tornados, and the time we were leaving was a clear spot in the storm, so we headed to the movie theater for the party.





The kids ate their free popcorn and enjoyed their free drinks while we waited for the show to start. They showed Madagascar 2, which my kids could really care less about, but it was still fun. Towards the end they were both ready for the movie to be over...they don't really follow the plot of long movies like that, so they get pretty long.

Jabberblabber made an appearance after the movie...


...and then we had green cupcakes and door prize drawings.




We won 2 tickets to "Walking with the Dinosaurs" at the FedEx Forum, but Claire was disappointed because she thought the "door prize" was a "Dora prize"!! But, I found out today that show has been cancelled. Oh well! I may have not gone anyway, since it will probably be a show all about how the earth is billions of years old and the dinosaurs were killed by a meteor...none of which we actually believe!

And I found out after we got home that there were lots of flash floods and several tornado warnings while we were in the theater, but we were clueless!
